Feeling Stuck
Towards the end of last year, I felt like I was stuck in a bit of a rut. My cup always seemed half empty, and instead of relishing the joy my three kids brought me, I found myself more focused on how annoying they were. Maybe it was the short days and cold weather, but something had to change.
New Year, New Vibes
Like many of us, I started the New Year full of good intentions. I aimed to flip my mindset—to embrace positivity, gratitude, and mindfulness. But, as you know, good intentions can only take you so far. I needed a tangible way to make a significant shift.
Podcast Inspiration
I turned to podcasts for a dose of inspiration. “The Positivity Xperience” with Lori Wheeler on Spotify quickly became my go-to. Yet, while it was motivating, I felt like I needed something more hands-on, something I could actually, you know, do. Lori does offer great workbooks but I always seem so tight on time – I needed something that I could realistically action and commit to.
Discovering the 6-Minute Diary
After some online sleuthing, I came across The 6-Minute Diary, crafted by Dominik Spenst. This nifty little journal is designed to cultivate a positive mindset through quick daily journaling. The concept is simple: spend three minutes each morning and evening reflecting, expressing gratitude, and setting intentions. Curious? Check it out

Kicking Off the Journey
So far, I’ve devoured the first 70 pages, and they’re packed with insights. I’m chomping at the bit to start my 3-minute journaling sessions. Picture this: a mug of tea in one hand, pen in the other, scribbling down thoughts that will (hopefully) turn my frown upside down. In a couple of months, I’ll share an update on my progress and hopefully reflect on a noticeable shift in my mindset.
Daily Life and Reflections
Life with kids can be chaotic, but it’s those little moments that make it all worthwhile. One day, my youngest decided that finger-painting on our freshly cleaned floor was a brilliant idea. As I stood there, watching the colourful mess unfold, I thought, “This is definitely a journaling moment.” Gratitude? I’m grateful for washable paint and the joy of seeing creativity in action!
